Who you are

  • A seasoned, entrepreneurial technology writer who is great at delivering high-quality, error-free content on time.
  • Adept at juggling many clients simultaneously.
  • Undaunted by in-the-weeds conversations about niche technical topics.
  • Eager to help clients accomplish their publishing goals based on their position within their company and their objectives for the year.
  • Always looking for ways to improve the customer experience, resulting in happy clients who renew their membership.
  • An effective virtual communicator who is comfortable regularly reporting on metrics that track client happiness, results, and issues.
  • A voracious reader who loves behind-the-scenes business and technology reporting. We work with big tech players and game-changing C-level execs/founders/professionals/business owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write bios, profiles, and 700- to 800-word articles for clients that are in line with our rigorous editorial standards, and the client’s voice and goals, in a short timeframe.
  • Turn around requested revisions quickly and courteously.
  • Interact with busy clients regarding their content in a professional, constructive manner.
  • Collaborate with our director of premium content to improve systems and processes that underpin this initiative.
  • Report challenges and roadblocks regularly to create greater efficiencies.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a post-college professional technology copywriting, journalism, or content marketing/creation role, preferably for a brand publisher, agency, or business publication, or equivalent freelance experience.
  • Strong portfolio of technology content that helps elevate others’ brands (samples will be required) — blogs, white papers, articles, etc.
  • Comfort with a range of business topics, from the highly technical to general leadership advice.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas/expertise into compelling copy suitable for the average professional/reader.
  • Basic HTML knowledge (h2s, links, etc.)

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Willingness to accept and act on feedback graciously.
  • Experience meeting, and beating, tight deadlines.
  • Impeccable grammar, spelling, writing, and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of AP Style and web publishing.
  • Gmail, Slack, and Google Docs familiarity is a plus.
