Data Integration Engineer - REMOTE

Community.co is seeking a full-time Data Integration Engineer with experience in backend data architecture to join our fast-paced Business Intelligence team. We are a small, remotely distributed team that enjoys investigating complex questions and helping our internal stakeholders have visibility into, and derive meaning from, multiple sources of data. This position will be primarily focused on backend data architecture and management, but will also perform front-end development tasks that support data visibility needs.

You will report to the VP of Business Intelligence, and will also work closely with the Product Development team and their code base.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and manage our data integrations between multiple in-house and third-party systems.
  • Write data ingestion and transfer processes that are resilient to network errors.
  • Develop front-end applications to present data to internal stakeholders, likely leveraging existing javascript-based pages
  • Produce well-tested, highly-supportable and performant code
  • Own work and deliverables, from inception to completion
  • Translate requirements into excellent system capabilities and features
  • Work in an agile methodology, both independently as well as collaboratively

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Javascript expertise, both in React and in Node.js
  • Familiarity with GraphQL, ideally experienced with Apollo server & client best-practices
  • Proficient in Git version control and GitHub
  • Some experience writing SQL
  • Experience with 3rd-party data integration, particularly Segment
  • Database design for relational databases and document storage
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter, excellent time management

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Some skills writing Python
  • Experience with or strong interest in learning graph databases (preferably Neo4j)
  • Experience with ETL processes, using Matillion or SQL Server
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Pendo, GetStream
  • Interested in exploring new technologies
  • Familiar with cloud technologies and platforms (AWS / GCP)
