UX Designer/Researcher - REMOTE

Community.co is seeking a full-time UX Designer Researcher to join our fast-paced team. The right person for the job will help strategize and plan UX Research initiatives to help support our product team while also executing findings in designs and recommendations for feature enhancements.

Who you are

The right candidate embodies a passionate, creative, yet pragmatic designer/researcher that can empathize with customer needs and behaviors, identify opportunities and successfully transform requirements into intuitive and elegant solutions across the web and mobile. You will collaborate with a passionate and engaged design team.  You will work alongside product management, development, and business stakeholders to drive a user-centered design approach. We move fast so we expect you to not just keep up, but help lead the way! You are a great communicator virtually, on the phone, and over email, and take the time to get to know people. You thrive in a remote work environment and welcome both the freedom and responsibility that comes with it. You will report to, and work closely with, the Director of User Experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the design process
  • Aligning business requirements, use cases, and user needs to create simple and elegant product interfaces
  • Gathering and interpreting stakeholder feedback to shape design solutions that meet both business and user needs
  • Creating visual artifacts to articulate, inform and validate ideas (prototypes, wireframes, sketches, journey maps, etc.)
  • Building strong relationships across the greater UX Design team as well as the larger organization
  • Identifying user needs and goals from initial discovery through to validation
  • Creating strategy for user research initiatives in collaboration with UX Designers and Product Teams
  • Authoring, scheduling, and moderating user interviews and usability tests in concert with product stakeholders
  • Rapidly synthesizing data, sharing findings, and making recommendations to the product team
  • Working with product stakeholders to test business requirements using heuristic/qualitative methods
  • Educating stakeholders on the importance of UX research
  • Guiding the design and implementation of research processes
  • Helping to create and maintain an ongoing, iterative design system

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Working knowledge of UX design principles and design thinking strategies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and act as a strategic partner in product decisions
  • Proficient with UX tools such as Sketch and InVision
  • Experience in Agile, Lean UX, or other iterative product development approaches (design sprints, scrum, kanban)
  • Design portfolio of work

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills to engage and influence partners and stakeholders
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and critiques
  • Experience with Pendo, Google Analytics, or similar analytic tools
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
